Sisters Sarah Rogers Murphy and Iris Rogers wanted to save their struggling family farm.

In the hands of the Rogers family since 1787, the Old Homestead Farm in Washington County was once a dairy. However, in recent years it limped along by leasing fields to other farmers for hay or corn. The sisters and their parents — Thomas and Cindy Rogers, who own the farm — knew that was not a sustainable solution.
